The name Matilda’s has a story of its own. It is partly a nod to the Estate’s Australian connection and the much-loved song Waltzing Matilda – but, more importantly, to our own Matilda, the little four-legged character who has become very much part of life at the Estate.
Like her namesake, Matilda’s Resaurant has plenty of personality. Relaxed, welcoming and a little eclectic, it brings together Highland surroundings with a touch of Australian warmth.
The menu follows the seasons, taking you from leisurely breakfasts and lunches to homemade cakes, afternoon teas and relaxed dinners.
It’s the sort of place we want you to feel comfortable lingering – whether you’ve travelled across the world to find us or simply popped in from down the road.

Matilda’s caters for vegans, vegetarians and gluten-free diets; special arrangements can be made for hosting large groups with advanced notice.
